Dampak Positif :

1.      Internet sebagai media komunikasi, merupakan fungsi internet yang paling banyak digunakan dimana setiap pengguna internet dapat berkomunikasi dengan pengguna lainnya dari seluruh dunia.

2.      Media pertukaran data, dengan menggunakan email, newsgroup, ftp dan www (world wide web – jaringan situs-situs web) para pengguna internet di seluruh dunia dapat saling bertukar informasi dengan cepat dan murah.

3.      Media untuk mencari informasi atau data, perkembangan internet yang pesat, menjadikan www sebagai salah satu sumber informasi yang penting dan akurat.

4.      Kemudahan memperoleh informasi yang ada di internet sehingga manusia tahu apa saja yang terjadi.

5.      Bisa digunakan sebagai lahan informasi untuk bidang pendidikan, kebudayaan, dan lain-lain.

6.      Kemudahan bertransaksi dan berbisnis dalam bidang perdagangan sehingga tidak perlu pergi menuju ke tempat penawaran/penjualan.

Dampak Negatif :

1.      Pornografi
Anggapan yang mengatakan bahwa internet identik dengan pornografi, memang tidak salah. Dengan kemampuan penyampaian informasi yang dimiliki internet, pornografi pun merajalela. Untuk mengantisipasi hal ini, para produsen ‘browser’ melengkapi program mereka dengan kemampuan untuk memilih jenis home-page yang dapat di-akses. Di internet terdapat gambar-gambar pornografi dan kekerasan yang bisa mengakibatkan dorongan kepada seseorang untuk bertindak kriminal.

2.      Violence dan Gore
Kekejaman dan kesadisan juga banyak ditampilkan. Karena segi bisnis dan isi pada dunia internet tidak terbatas, maka para pemilik situs menggunakan segala macam cara agar dapat ‘menjual’ situs mereka. Salah satunya dengan menampilkan hal-hal yang bersifat tabu.

3.      Penipuan
Hal ini memang merajalela di bidang manapun. Internet pun tidak luput dari serangan penipu. Cara yang terbaik adalah tidak mengindahkan hal ini atau mengkonfirmasi informasi yang Anda dapatkan pada penyedia informasi tersebut.

4.      Carding
Karena sifatnya yang langsung, cara belanja dengan menggunakan Kartu kredit adalah carayang paling banyak digunakan dalam dunia internet. Para penjahat internet pun paling banyak melakukan kejahatan dalam bidang ini. Dengan sifat yang terbuka, para penjahat mampu mendeteksi adanya transaksi (yang menggunakan Kartu Kredit) on-line dan mencatat kode Kartu yang digunakan. Untuk selanjutnya mereka menggunakan data yang mereka dapatkan untuk kepentingan kejahatan mereka.

5.      Perjudian
Dampak lainnya adalah meluasnya perjudian. Dengan jaringan yang tersedia, para penjudi tidak perlu pergi ke tempat khusus untuk memenuhi keinginannya. Anda hanya perlu menghindari situs seperti ini, karena umumnya situs perjudian tidak agresif dan memerlukan banyak persetujuan dari pengunjungnya.

Human body is actually a living machine and is like all other machines. This living machine needs fuel to supply it with energy. The fuel is provided by the food which we eat. However do we know how much we need to stay healthy?
The energy value of food is usually measured in calories. A calorie is the amount of heat which is required to raise the temperature of 1 kg of water by 1 degree C. The number of calories which people need per day varies. It depends on the activity which the people are involved in. For example; people will need more calories for standing than for sitting, people need more for running than for walking, etc.
The energy which is provided by food is in the form of three kinds of chemical substances. They are carbohydrate, protein and fat. Carbohydrate provides 8.8 calories per gram (cal/gm) of energy, protein 4.0 cal/gm and fat 8.0 cal/gm. Each food contains different proportion of these substances.These three chemical substances are all important for body staying healthy.

Pangandaran Beach

The tour to Pangandaran Beach started on holiday last semester. We decided to go to Pangandaran Beach by our motorbike. That was very interesting tour. Riding a motorbike from my hometown, Cirebon, to Pangandaran Beach with my best friends made me feel exited.

The tour to Pangandaran Beach began at 09.00 a.m. in the morning and it took 5 hours riding to Pangandaran Beach. There were so many story that my friends and I got when we were in the tour such as there was my friend who got lost, ran out of fuel in the middle of jungle, and so forth. But it was interesting, because it was the first moment that I ever had in touring.

We arrived at Pangandaran Beach at 02.00 p.m. and we stright to move to the beach. At beach we just lied down there to stretch our muscle because of 5 hours riding. We also had a lunch there by eating some foods that we brought from Cirebon. That was very nice moment when we shared our own food to others.

After we had enough rest, we began to explore Pangandaran Beach. Started by exploring the beach, and the sea using rented boat. Then we went to dive by renting some diving equipment. We could see many coral there. We just had 2 hours to enjoy Pangandaran Beach because we had to come back to Cirebon.

We came back to Cirebon at 04.00 p.m. It was imposible to ride in the night, so we just decided to stay over in our friend house in Ciamis and we started to come back in the morning. That was very nice experience that I and my friends ever had. We would never forget that moment.

Dave found a nice office. He bought some new furniture and moved in. he had only been there for e few hours when he heard someone coming toward the door of his office.
“It must be my first customer” Dave thought. He quickly picked up the telephone and pretended to be very busy answering an important call from someone in New York who wanted to buy a big and expensive house in the country.
The man knocked at the door while this was going on. He came in and waited politely for Dave to finish his conversation on the phone. Then the man said to Dave; “I am from the telephone company and I was sent here to connect your telephone”

Runduk and The Moon Prince

Once there was a girl called Runduk Tadan who lived with her six brothers in the forest. Runduk kept house while her brothers hunted in the jungle and fished in the river.

One day, as Runduk was finishing her housework, there was a knock at the door. When she opened the door, Runduk saw a handsome young man dressed in fine clothing. At first she thought must be on his way to a wedding.

“May I rest here for a few minutes?” the young man said, “I am a traveller.”

Runduk gave him something to drink while he rested, but soon the young man left, promising to return.

Several days later, the young man came back. This time he and Runduk talked for a long time. Before he left, Runduk asked him where he lived.

“I live a long way from here,” he said.

“Do you live in a palace?” asked Runduk, for she was sure only a prince could dress so finely.

The young man laughed. “If you would like to see my home I will take you there tomorrow,” he said. “Tell your brothers that you are going to visit a friend.”

That night Runduk told her brothers that she was going to visit a friend in the village. They were glad and wished her a happy trip. When morning came, Runduk bathed and dressed in her brightest sarong. Then she put a red flower in her hair.

 Soon the young man came to the door. “You are beautiful this morning, Runduk,” he said. He took her hand and together they walked into the forest. Soon they reached a tall tree. “This Ls the stairway to the moon, Runduk, for I am a prince of the moon, and that is where I live. I hope you like it as much as I do, because I want to marry you.”

Runduk was so happy that she couldn’t say a word. She smiled at the young man and he kissed her gently. “Come, we have a long way to go,” he said. “But you must promise me one thing: as we climb the stairway to the moon, you must not look down.”

Runduk promised, and they began to climb the tree. Soon they neared the top branches, and just then the wind blew Runduk’s red flower out of her hair. Without thinking, she looked down to see where it had gone.

Suddenly there was a flash of lightning. Runduk felt her­self falling, and then she fainted. When she awoke, Runduk was at home in her own bed. The moon was shining brightly through the window. Runduk looked at it lovingly and won­dered if she would ever see the young man again. In fact, people still say that when the moon is especially bright, the young prince who lives there is gazing at Runduk.
